Concorde in Miramar FL RN-Program

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi, does anyone know when Concorde RN program in Miramar FL will start.? or when they will start testing for the NET?

The RN program started it's first day today, 11/30/2009. It looks like the next class will sit around April.

As far as testing, they have you do a Wonderlic first then the NET test.

I started today with the RN program....I'm thrilled :)

If you don't mind me asking you Melt648, how much is the program..? how was the NET... ?

No problem, I certainly didn't sign a confidentiality agreement :yeah: The current term is running 38k over 18 months. The NET was extremely easy...think addition, subtraction, percentages, with a dash of pre-algebra for Math and basic reading comprehension for English. I used http://www.testprepreview.com/nursing_practice.htm (Net Test can be selected from the left) for my review.

jajajajaja thats funny Melt648 :lol2: .. yea cause they keep calling me from concorde. jajaaj still not sure what to do...i got MDC and I need 5 classes left for my AA in Pre-Nursing... then from there don't know where to go.., but best of luck and always remember your hard work will payoff later on. I know from experience my sister in law did her RN in Barry it was super hard.and it paid off at the end.....:yeah:

Ty!

I know it is expensive, but this is how I decided to rationalize it....If I was to apply/be accepted into one of the other local colleges my expected wait list time is 1-1.5 years and I will be done with the program by then. So even if the program is twice the cost of BC/MDC/Nova/etc I know I will make up the difference from the pay increase over that year and a half I would have been on the wait list.

Did you like that rational? Did it see convincing? I have to tell myself that everytime I experience heart palpitations when I look at my loan paperwork

Good luck in what you decide!

OMG you are sooo funny...LOL:D ... you are very right.. but my thing was like I already had started with my AA I was gonna loose all of those credits.. if I go for the ASN and I didn't want that.. .. so now when I'm done I have to apply for Barry, Nova or even FIU to do the BSN .. this is such a mission.. all these schools they give me a headache.

:redpinkhe

Concorde is accepting up to 18 transfer credits (basically the prereqs) if you received an A or a B.

The biggest deal maker for me is that in 4 months I will already be starting clinicals at a hospital.

Melt, Can you clarify a little for me,

Did you say, Concorde is 38000 for 15 months,

BCC (Broward College) is 18 months only 3 months difference and its about 6000 for the program i believe..

Specializes in Tele.

you are very right jam!

the waiting lists at bc are obsolete..... and now people are being accepted by a point system.. and next fall they will be getting in with an entrace exam.

$6k is a lot better than going to a school that's $38k and it does not have all the proper accreditations!

one of the girls i work with- went to one of those technical schools turned nursing school== for about the same price as concorde...... and now she wants her bsn and fiu did not take them.... now she's doing her bsn at the same school... so that's more $$$ she's spending.

my rn-bsn program is costing me about $6k at a public university instead of the ridiculous amount of money these private university ask for.

:twocents::twocents:just my two cents.

on the other hand, i can definitely understand why many people would chose those private institutions because the public community colleges, and public universities are so competetive to get into......or they accept other people before you== i've experienced that myself!! so i definitely know the dissapointment one feels when a school you want to go to does not want you.

Also, alot of these students are nontraditional students meaning they never finished high school or received ged or diploma. I know for a fact that concorde does not require ged just that you pass their own qualification exam that's how they get you because a lot of these students could'nt attend a bcc or fiu because they are college material

are not college material
