Broward College Nursing May 2015

U.S.A. Florida

Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!

Either a part time lpn gig or waiting tables, which I've done for almost 10 years. Waiting tables will probably bring me more money though with less hours. Rent is significantly more expensive down there than it is up here and that worries me a bit.

That's good I no it sucks to change majors but it's better you do it nw then later n me to I hear all the horror stories and that scares me ND I start to think of man I'm never gonna get in or I'm going fail after a while it gets in your head and you start to second guess yourself im learning to not listen to negative stuff because we're our worst enemies.......

I no lol but I do all my classes mainly at central I have never been to south campus so many people from my high school go there n it looks so dirty......plus I work at Cleveland clinic hospital n that's were central goes I like the big campus feel like a university south just looks run down..... Idk were to go I have to choose before I put in my application next Thursday..

Only 2 instructors in the whole program at Central go to Cleveland clinic. It depends on what your schedule is. I'm in Ortho, almost done, and this semester was the first where I'm in Cleveland clinic. Don't choose a campus based on looks OR clinical sites. They can and have changed.

Try and apply at PSA Healthcare. I work there. It's pediatric home health, pay isn't great, but it's sufficient for me in my program.

Based on the rent prices I've seen I'm going to need to pull in about $500/week to afford to live down there

And that's to scrape by. $600/week would be perfect.

Yup I'm chosen what gets me less gas so that's what I'm choosing and everyone is different I no I don't want to go south because that what I don't wanna do... everyone chooses things for different reasons. ...

I was going to take a CNA job at Delray Medical Center, until I was told they could only pay me 8$ an hour, while I am making $9.50 at Publix as a cashier

I might hav to leave my job though once I start, have you guys applied for financial aid? I know everyone's situation is different, I am lucky enough to live with my dad for free. But I also have bills to pay, like car, car insurance, phone, food and gas. Also, my parents cant help me out with school expenses, so everything I get is from my bright futures scholarship from high school and financial aid/loans

Omg only 8 dollars are u serious I'm a CNA at Cleveland clinic hospital and I get payed 12 dollars an hour I'm full time and I work 3 12 hour shifts with 4 days off......no matter if you don't have experience Or not u shouldn't be making anything less then 10 that's how much I started with no experience. ......just keep looking you can find much much better trust me there are lot of CNA jobs think Cleveland clinic hospital even has facilities near were you live I thin I read you live close to north and I think they have a facility over there.......

And I pay for class out of pocket I can't get financial aid because I live at home and my parents make to much but they are not helping me... and I too pay the same things...I want to the out a loan for the program so I won't be stressed about saving money. ....the entire program is 11,700 including books supplies uniform and tuition which is not bad my friend right nw goes to Nova for nursing and she already has a 40 thousand dollar loan Broward college is cheaper thank god lol I would be sooo broke even worst then I am nw paying out of pocket

Thats awesome! But how do i apply there? Ive applied to countless places and no call back
