Broward College August 2012

U.S.A. Florida

Hi! This is a thread for anyone applying for August 2012 class at Broward College for the generic nursing track. I deferred my seat so I will be starting in August. I haven't decided if I want to go to central or south yet.. I'm super excited about starting in August! If I could help anyone with anything feel free to ask! :)

I agree time has been going by super slow. Im so anxious especially since there is very little talk about this term. All I know is that a whole bunch of May's students deferred their seat. I barely know how many points people have. The lack of talk is killing me ahhhh!
I completely agree with the lack of talking. I constantly read post from previous semester of students who have applied and thought to myself how in tuned everyone was. I'm hoping we will know a few days before the 15th. I just pray everyone has a shot to at least prove themselves.

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted and deferred their seats for august! I applied for August 2012 and I am anxiously waiting like everyone else. The only thing that has me worried is the health core class. When I went to turn in the application I asked the lady at central if having a medical assistant diploma takes place of that class. She told me yes everything will be fine and that i completed everything needed for the program. Now when i look online it said you must have a license in order to override that class. I have a A.A. Degree, 3.52 gpa, earned 11 points and got an 89% overall score on the hesi but this diploma vs. license thing has me worried that I won't get accepted!!! Any thoughts?? Thank you!! ;)

I'm not sure about the medical assistance maybe someone has an answer. I am a CNA and had the option to opt out due to my license.

I agree there's a lot of students who deferred their seats I hope that does not effect the students applying for the August 2012 negatively. I spoke to someone at the school last week and asked her the cut off G.P.A and I was told that they hadn't started processing apps. Yet so she had no idea...however I have 8 points (just gpa points) and over 82% on my Hesi hope it's enough....

be careful with that I also have my A.A as well and I'm a certified First Responder, I was told that my first responder certificate would over ride my health core class (which I did take) but I was denied I had to speak with someone to get my application back into review....simply put stay on top of that!

Don't worry your fine with just your medical assistant crt. I was accepted for May and deffered to August. I used my medical assistant crt. So don't worry! Good Luck!

Let's cross our fingers. Maybe we will get news today! Here's hoping! :)

I hope so!!!

Fingers crossed extra tight

Hello Everyone!

I am one of the students that also deferred my seat to August. I wanted to let those of you know that are still waiting that the wait is almost over! I know how anxious and exciting it is at this point. I spoke to someone in Health admissions at North campus yesterday regarding some questions I had and also asked when orientation would take place as I have plans to leave town this summer. She informed me that because they are trying to find a location for orientation that's what is holding up the decision letters to be sent out. A lot of the locations they would normally use for orientation are currently closed for the summer. She's hoping to have letters sent out by the beginning of next week! So just wanted to let you all know that you might find out a little sooner than expected. ;)

For those applicants that have concerns about their status I highly suggest you go to campus and speak with someone before it's too late. This process is all about being proactive and I cannot stress that enough! You never know what information you may learn just by requesting a short meeting with someone and how it can affect your acceptance. I thank everyone on here for sharing their current and previous experiences with Broward College. If it hadn't been for this site and the open communication that we all have here, it would of made my journey a lot more difficult.

Congrats to those that have already been accepted and good luck to those still waiting! I look forward to meeting all of my new classmates for North campus!!!

Janice :yeah:

Wow. Did they end up accepting you MeMe2012? And thank you Laquain99, hopefully we know something today!

This has been a very nervous and anxious wait. I hope my 12 points is enough and I hope that everyone here gets accepted. Prayers and fingers crossed!
