i hear shands is the best...and baptist south on old st augustine road is the newest...something about it being mainly 'paperless', it was just completed within the past three years

Shands is the best if you want trauma...they handle all that...It really depends on what field you are interested in...Wolfson is the best and I think only Children's Hospital and Nemour's is a clinic affiliated with them...Both are apart of Baptist (baptist has numerous locations)...We have St. Vincent's and they just joined with St. Lukes, Orange Park Medical Center, Kindred, Nassau...and a few more...and it depends on where you are in Jacksonville...like I am on the outskirts so it is about the same distance for me to go to the hospitals downtown as it is to go to the Shands in Gainesville

baptist south actually isnt the newest anymore... mayo just opened a brand new facility in april.

the baptist health care system is transitioning to computer charting; last i heard BMC beaches was going to go paperless this summer. nassau i believe is paperless and downtown too. i also think all the baptist hospitals are magnet status (so usually the nurses have higher job satisfaction, better pay, lower ratios):

orange park medical center and memorial hospital are sister hospitals and both are for-profit facilities.

I wouldn't recommend Baptist South. They might be the newest hospital in the Jax area but they are disorganized, disorganized, disorganzied! Many travelers there! High turnover.

Orange Park is and Memorial are both HCA. If you know what that means. Hard to get on Orange Park unless you are a traveler or willing to accept substandard wages.

Memorial is larger but high patient ratios and HCA too.

Shands is your best bet.

An part time Fl resident here.
