Hello All. Is there anyone who knows info about the Barry University Nursing program conjoined with Baptist Hospital in Kendall FL??? Need to know if anyone has recently been accepted or info from new graduates. The school claims guareented employment when u complete the BSN successfully. Is this still the case? I'm living in Jersey now finishing up all pre-req's and really want to apply. But after reading all the horror stories of lack of work especially in FL I'm worried. Any advice anyone with info???

Yes, If you get the scholarship from Barry you will get a job there at a baptist hospital once you are done with school.

Baptist has this scholarship for Miami Dade college, and Nova southeastern University as well.

Specializes in M/S, MICU, CVICU, SICU, ER, Trauma, NICU.

I believe it is the RN to BSN, not the full four years. Speak with the scholars program director ...and look on www.baptisthealth.net

It's my understanding that you sign a contract to work for BHM as a new RN and for several years.

Hi, I am currently in the program. We owe Baptist 3 yrs of employment when we complete our BSN. The students in our class have associate degrees but are not RNs. We have one LPN in our class. Baptist is currently expanding and has a hospital scheduled to open in West Kendall in a year. Let me know if I can help you with anything.

Hi there,

Hopefully you will see my post. Did you graduate yet. If so how do you like working for Baptist? What are the pros and cons?

Thanks.

I posted a question yesterday asking about the job market because I have the same concern as you. I'm scared I won't find a job after all of my hard work in nursing school. Someone suggested that I call all of the hospitals in the area I plan on working and ask them how many new graduates they have hired in the past year. That way you'll get a good idea of what your chances are at finding a job... if you don't get the Baptist scholarship
