Baptist Scholarship Program..

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hey everyone, im considering the South Florida Baptist Scholarship program, where they pay for tuition in exchange of 3 years work commitment. I would like to know how is it working at a Baptist hospital? I have heard things such as you dont get much experience, it is not really a known hospital and that there are better hospitals out here in Miami. Any one have any experience with this? Or know anyone with any experience with Baptist hospital? Or currently in the program? Any insight would help. Thanx!

Baptist is one of the top. You get a lot of experience. IMO, if you can get in, youre lucky

That's good to know. I just signed the Baptist Scholars contract last Friday. I was a little nervous with all the negative comments that I've been hearing, but I'm just going to go in with an open-mind and do the best that I can.

how long ago you wait to get an answer i just got my interview on the 18th.:coollook:

do you have to be in the program to apply with them??? keep us posted... what school do you attend

I will be attending Nova starting January. In order to apply for the baptist scholarship you first must be accepted into one of the nursing schools that offers the baptist scholarship. I believe the schools are Nova,Barry,MDC and Florida keys College. But yes first you must be accepted in the program.

Hey Shen06, do you have any advice for the interview?

is baptist still offering this progream

It is almost impossible for new grads to find a job. If Baptist is going to pay your tuition and guarantee you a job after you graduate then GO FOR IT.

I have heard that Baptist Health Systems is an excellent company to work for.

Seems like a win-win situation.

I am a scholars student/graduate with a job already in baptist. Its a great program especially in todays world. Baptist health has I think 5 hospitals and 13 outpatient services. Baptist health is and has been for I think the last 4 years top 100 companies to work for in the US and their benefits are crazy great. Although there are only 4 schools for which they provide this scolarship and just recently they've cut down on scholarships due to its demand. can beat it!!

AS16RN--do you know which 4 schools offer this scholarhip? What do you have to do to get it? How does one apply?

NOVA southeatern University

Barry University

Miami Dade College

Florida Keys Community College

They also have off-site scholarships which im not too informed of. Something you can look into.

First you need to be accepted to one of the above mentioned schools. Then, you can apply for the scholarship (one of the requirements is a letter of acceptance). Thats pretty much it. If you go to the human resources building at Baptist they can provide you more information. Its a great program!
