In broward county? Or am I the only one? I see the last thread on either one of these schools was from 2011. I'm trying to get into mcfatter for Novembers start date. Orientation was supposed to be Monday but was cancelled due to the storm. So now it's on September 10th. I'm afraid a lot of people may be applying. And that I may not get on. :( was thinking about emailing the counselor and asking her how many they admit each time.

The drug test can only be done at 4 specific locations.

Is Labcorp one of them? Guess I'll find out Monday.

Yes my friend just entered the program in july she told me where to go

i made mine at the hollywood location which is where my friend went who just entered the program. its kind of far from my house but i did it to be safe. she said she just walked in and didn't need an appointment

Ugh! Went to Sheridan today. They are SO RUDE there. Smh. Anyway their program starts December 17th. So Atlantic's start date is December 18th, Sheridan December 17th, and Mcfatter November 19th. I hope I get in to one at least. I'm so turned off by Sheridan tht I don't even wanna go in now. Lol

Ok so I/we have 3 chances to get in somewhere. :lol2: I'm claiming it ladies! I'm gonna get in someone's program this year! My goal tomorrow is to make a doc appt for my physical. I have insurance so I'll be calling around. If not I'll just walk into a clinic. For some reason i thought they were gonna do the drug screening at the school. Why are we told to bring $32 then? To get a slip to turn in to the labcorp?

Yes I found that weird too that she said bring.the money. I also see lab corp accepts insurances so I wonder why we'd have to bring cash? And yesss im hoping one of the programs! And ive read on here that sheridan is the worse program supposedly that the instructors are very rude and not so helpful :0 also make sure to make your appointment for your physical tomorrow! Try to make one at lab corp too just incase. I know for aure the hollywood location is one of the 4 we can go to. Call the health building tomorrow and ask if you can get the physical paper tomorrow maybe theyll give it if.you ask. Worst they can say is no. its worth a try!

I made the labcorp appt after you said you did but it was for one in plantation. I would think as long as its a labcorp that it shouldn't matter WHAT location it is. Correct? Hope so cause I made my appt for a labcorp in plantation. Yeah I'll go and see if they'll give me the physical paper tmrw. Even if they do, I still may not get an appt until next week anyway. Wow. Is that what they said about Sheridan? I can see it may be true. I mean ghetto to the fullest!

Also I started filling out my financial aid last night. Is it too early to start? I just wanted to have it done just in case. I remember reading they say you're accepted a month or do prior to the start date. Would that be enough time to fill out a fafsa and see if you're actually gonna get anything? I don't wanna be last minute wondering how gonna pay for this!

I think you should be fine with lab corp I first made mine in tamarac but changed it just incase but I think there are only 4 local lab corps who do urine samples and it would come up in your search. Also idk about financial aid causw I did read they dont.bother with it until a month before. I already had.mine.done because I was attending BC. But im not sure I guess we can asl that at orientation. Its better to do it than to be sorry atleast youll have a foot up some what.. And yes sheridan looks to be verrrry ghetto I went there for my ged. Hoping that will be the last resort lol!

Girrrrrlllll! When that counselor said to me "Hurry up and make it fast!" I did an about face and walked my tail up outta there. She straight up tried me. Anyway I made my appt at lab corp but was kinda confused. I picked the option of employment drug screening. was that the right one to pick? I didn't see any other options that looked better.

There was this option

Routine clinical laboratory collections

and this option

Occupational urine drug screen collections

I picked the second one.

Ok you have to pay the money to the school, they will give you receipt and form; keep receipt to turn in with packet and once you go to labcorp its paid for; i have insurance as well but i did not want to prolong the process so i just did what they wanted. The 4 locations are cypress rd in plantation, silver lakes in pembroke pines, 29th ave. in hollywood, and north dixie hwy ft. lauderdale. HTH

You're welcome. Do you guys know other than Broward College who offers an LPN-RN program? At Broward they only offer the transition program in May, wanted to see what our options will be.
