Anyone starting nursing school at Keiser University Fort Lauderdale May 2012???

i've read some good comments here about keiser, and in all honestly, at another location you might get a different experience. i'm attending keiser university in fort lauderdale and about to graduate. this is the worst school! period! this is my honest opinion and the opinion of practically everyone in my class and many other students in this nursing program. the teachers are awful, they can't teach. they are nurses without a teaching degree. most of them are jaded and defensive. students are tired of complaining. clinicals are a waste of time! deans won't listen. you end up teaching yourself. the tests don't correspond to the teaching. the complaints are ignored and are attributed to "unruly" students, so everything repeats itself every semester. nothing ever changes! the tests don't correspond to the teaching. the school is expensive. i only wished someone would warn me about this when i applied.

Hello everyone,

Is there anyone that can tell me about the hours for the nursing program at Keiser? Or at least that can give me an idea of what hours the clinicals are- Im looking into this school as well and the hours are a big concern since I will have to work- I got 2 different answers from the counselor and need to make a few decisions. Thank you all in advance

I am about graduating from Keiser FTL-and this is honest truth and my own opinion. The main problem the school is the quality of teaching . Almost every single teacher lacks experience. The school's administration is very disorganized. You will end up teaching yourself. Overall, I am pretty disappointing with the school where morale is low.

Thank you for the article... but do you feel that they have prepared you to take the NCLEX exam? I checked on the State of Florida website and they have pretty good pass rates - what was your clinical experience like?..I have already enrolled and have begun taking my last few pre-requisite courses.

What percentage of people who start at Keiser end up passing their exit exam?

For instance, if a school were to weed out all but one student, and that student passed the NCLEX after graduation, then that school's pass rate would be 100% for that graduation period.

the reason students pass NCLEX because they do a good job teaching themselves. Most are pretty smart and Keiser does a good job of weeding bad students out, as someone already mentioned. If instead of going to class and wasting time, and paying high tuition, dealing with stresses of incompetent teachers, Financial departments, and Bursars you were given a book to study yourself, you would be much better off. BTW, Nclex is not hard.

I'd be curious to hear your comment after taking the first test given by the Fundies teacher, who probably could not pass it herself..
