Anyone starting nursing school at Keiser University Fort Lauderdale May 2012???

What percentage of people who start at Keiser end up passing their exit exam?

For instance, if a school were to weed out all but one student, and that student passed the NCLEX after graduation, then that school's pass rate would be 100% for that graduation period.

the reason students pass NCLEX because they do a good job teaching themselves. Most are pretty smart and Keiser does a good job of weeding bad students out, as someone already mentioned. If instead of going to class and wasting time, and paying high tuition, dealing with stresses of incompetent teachers, Financial departments, and Bursars you were given a book to study yourself, you would be much better off. BTW, Nclex is not hard.

I'd be curious to hear your comment after taking the first test given by the Fundies teacher, who probably could not pass it herself..

Oh Boy!- Yeah that's kinda scary. I always hear that the NCLEX is hard, or at least it seems that way.. I hear about so many people having to take it 3 and 4 times before they can pass it. Im concerned about learning the material I need to in order to be a good nurse, that actually knows her stuff.. So you totally feel that you didn't learn anything from your professors? Basically you and your class mates were self-taught? I decided to enroll at Keiser because of the schedule.. I have no choice but to work, and I also checked their accredidations as well as the NCLEX pass rates. So they "seem" to be a good choice, although $7000 per semester is astronomical I felt that since Id taken most of my pre-requisite courses I would be ok... I just want as much information you are able to offer me in hopes of me being a successful student etc. Thank you so much for your input thus far, I appreciate it.

I'd be happy to. The most important advice prior to starting a nursing school, pick yourself a book that teaches you to do Critical Thinking questions and familiarize yourself with Nurse's logic. It takes some time to learn to do get the essence of those. The more you do these questions, the better you become. It does take time, at lease a month. So, start early.

Another advice. Make sure you take med-surg very serious. Buy an Nclex book early in school, and do at least 30 NCLEX type of questions every day. They repeat themselves. IF you do this, you will be much more ahead.

Now that I am done with school, I wish I would have taken clinicals much more seriously,
