Hello, I am planning to get a Florida RN license by endorsement
. I see that Florida requires that applicants have to prove they've been working for 2 of past 3 years to apply
for a Florida RN license by endorsement.
Here's my problem-
---I've been doing private duty for a relative for most of past 2 years, and not through any agency, and i wasn't always "paid" either.
I have called the Florida Board of Nursing to ask if any additional proof would be required in that situation, if i just have the relative still living fill in the form, as if she was my employer,
but, the person i spoke to said she had no idea, kept repeating "They just review each case and decide what else they might want. I can't know what they might want."
Does anyone know what else would be required? I did not keep the occasional checks my relatives gave me for 'proof of employment', and since i was barely breaking even with things i bought for my uncle's care, gas and travel, etc, i didn't claim this on my W2 forms, either.
but, wow, i was working!! and hard, too!! He had colostomies, wounds, dressings, physical therapies, multiple surgeries and recoveries, tons of meds, frequent problems of all kinds, and towards the end, it was more like hospice care.
Has anyone else had their private duty work investigated by Florida board of nursing? If so, what proof did you have to provide??
Thank you to anyone who can share any info or experience with this!!
