anyone know what the NPH on insulin stands for??

Hi! I just looked it up in my medical dictionary-I never knew what it stood for either. It is neutral protamine Hagedorn insulin. And when I looked up what Hagedorn was, all I could find was "Hagedorn needle-curved surgical needle with flattened sides." At least we now know what NPH stands for though! :)

P.S. And under "protamine sulfate" it says it is a more slowly absorbed insulin
