no one is a loser until they give up.

that spark is there, or you wouldn't be retaking... don't allow anyone (including your own self doubt!) to snuff it out. you've come too far.

you can... yes, you can... do this ! (((hugs)))

thank you for your kind words...there is a spark there...and i know i will pass the second time around....i am not a quitter....

I'm really sorry. I'm fairly certain I'll be in the same boat. At least you will know where your problem areas are. I did just from the number of questions in each category I got. Than I panicked and kept looking at the time and the number of questions increasing. Next time, we'll know what to expect. That should make us feel better. And don't internalize it! This is what I am currently fighting off right now! lol It's hard - but don't do it. I'm just going to continue studying the way I have been. I'll do about 200 questions a day. I'm taking other classes so I can't put ALL of my energy into it but that's okay. A little bit everyday will be fine. Geez, I'm feeling better giving you a pep talk. Funny how that works. I know for a fact that we'll pass next time. Cheer up - things could be worse. Drought, famine, homeless, illness - all we did was miss a test by literally a couple percent. You know we were close if we went to 265. That's just logical. Anyway, you're still an lpn, I believe??? You can work, practice and learn. Next we take the test, we'll have to embrace it instead of dread it.

Thank you so much for the pep talk, i think it is helping...Do you know if we can still practice under the GN permit even if we have failed?

What you are going through right now is every new grad's worst fear. My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. My suggestion is to take step back and get re-energized. You have worked hard to get to this point so please don't give up. Several people I know have taken their boards a 2nd time.

I suggest 's review course if you can find one available near you. It's 4 days and they offer a money back guarantee if you fail the test. I have heard it's great but I couldn't afford it after graudation (cost was around $300). I had friends take it last month and they said it was well worth it - made me wish I'd borrowed the money to take it. Just a suggestion...

Best Wishes :)

Do you have a website or phone number for 's review???

Here is the website for 's review - look under courses & schedules for locations. The 2 major hospitals in my area hired this corporation to review for their new grads but there was also room for unaffiliated grads.

I am sorry to hear of your failure, but the only the thing to do is toget up and brush yourself off and try again. Stay positive because you will succeed.

Specializes in Neonatal.

Unfortunately you cannot practice as a GN after you have failed. This happened to a couple of friends of mine and they worked as techs until they passed. Don't let this stress you out, just concentratre on studying, you will pass! Good luck! :)

I'm a student and they give us their review software as part of the program. It's supposed to be really good.
