Like many other new grads I am having difficulty getting a job. I graduated Dec '10 and have been unemployed and unable to obtain a job. After applying to a million places, I finally decided to contact the nurse recruiter directly at one of these facilities. I have applied for multiple positions at this particular hospital. I emailed her my cover letter with resume attached. I was wondering if I should respond, and if so how should I respond? I am getting so depressed that I have even considered changing my name to something that sounds more professional. Anyhow, here is her email response:

Dear Ms.XXXX,

Thank you for your interest in XXXX Medical Center. We have received your on-line applications as well. At this time, we have selected other candidates to interview for the RN positions for which you have applied. We would like to see a minimum of one year RN work experience to be considered for a staff nurse position. I realize that you have several years as an LPN but the role of the RN is more encompassing. We appreciate your interest in AAMC.

Regards,

when i received responses similar to these, they have (almost) always been automated and stated (bluntly) to not respond. Double check. When you say you emailed the nurse recruiter DIRECTLY....u mean her inbox at work? If you chose, I would reply short and sweet: "Thank you for your time and consideration regarding my applications . As I gain experience in my career, I will be checking back for updated positions at this facility and look forward to speaking with you then. If you have additional RN positions that you feel I may be better suited for, I would be happy to discuss them with you at your earliest convenience.".... etc etc

Thank you so much for responding. I did send the email to her direct inbox. I am not sure if it was autogenerated because it mentions my LPN experience as well as my online application. That doesn't mean it was automatically generated though, I rather it was. I definitely think your suggestion is appropriate. Thank you again.
