Hello, just graduated from an ADN program 6 weeks ago and applied for an IP. I just spoke to the BRN in California and they said they have not got the rooster or the transcripts yet (which the school sends out). I talked to the school and they said it will be going out at the end of the week. The BRN says that once they get the paper work it will be 6-8 weeks for processing. Once you graduate is it 13-15 weeks before u start working just to get an IP. Also when would i be able to take the NCLEX?? would i have to wait until i get the IP or can i take it after I register at pearson vue (people responsible for giving it) It just seems like a long time 3 months to start working. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Ben

It all depends on your school and your BON.

I graduated Dec 15th, was Board approved for the NCLEX on January 6th, and took my boards on January 9th. I started work on January 22.
