HI

In order for me to graduate and to be able to sit for the NCLEX I have to pass a HESI test. Does anyone have any ideas on how to pass it or how to get ready for it.

Hey adamsmom, besides reading the HESI book; I highly that you do as many questions as you possibly can...I had to take the HESI several times before I passed. The book that I studied from is Saunder's 3rd edition. I did all the questions in there and the CD that came with it, my score jumped from 732 to 927 (this was in January 31); took Board last week, had 75 questions and passed on 1st try.

I do 20 NCLEX questions daily some from Saunders some from lipincotts and some from davis. What Hesi book to you mean?

Thanks

adamsmom, i am graduating with my bsn in may and just passed my hesi, first time. our instructers suggest that we do atleast 300 questions a week from nclex 3500. it has higher level questions compared to saunders. we are required to complete 100 ?'s a week, that has to be turned into our preceptor. nclex 3500 is a cd-rom, and is really easy, and cheap to find on the internet. i found mine on amazon.com, and i think half.com has it as well. a good score on that is 65% or higher. there is also a really great hesi book that just came out in january. our instructors really pushed for us to buy this book and study it. it has these little "hesi hints," that i found to be very helpful. i know you are probably burnt out on shelling out money for this stuff, but look at it this way, you didn't come all this way to fail now, so do what you have to do to graduate.

here is a link for the hesi book on amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/evolve-comprehensive-review-nclex-rn%c2%ae-examination/dp/1416047751/ref=sr_1_5?ie=utf8&s=books&qid=1205456601&sr=1-5

good luck to you, i really hope everything works out for you. if you have any other questions feel free to ask. :D

If anyone is out there.........Please help!!!! I just took my first HESI test last week and scored a 63%........The school that I'm attending we take 2 each term and if we don't average a 70% between the 2 we get kicked out. I tried so hard to get into the nursing program and don't know what I'll do if I get kicked out.

I just passed my Hesi Exit exam after the 3rd try. My advice is to do lots of questions. Since yours is a certain class it should be easier to do just questions from that section like pedi, OB etc. Do questions from different sources like NCLEX 3500, Saunders, etc. Best of luck to you.
