Yeah it kind of made me feel a little on the pathetic side too. I've only been searching for a week but that was the only response of any kind I have received. Their job listing was skimpy on details though.

In what kind of area are you? Urban? Rural? That will affect your search.

I live in Los Angeles. I've just hauled out my old fax machine and Monday morning I'm going to start the drive by. Resume dropping that is not shootings lol

I had the same thing happen to me, except that I actually had the interview. I couldn't believe the DON hadn't even looked over my resume or application. I got in her office and 2 minutes later I was walking back out. After I sat down she says "oh, I'm only hiring experienced nurses right now."

Yeah that was my experience. I got into the interview and it ended quickly.

Wow, what a waste if their and your time - how hard would it be to put that information in the ad, and how long would it take to glance at the resume? Did you at least get some interview experience in the process, or was the whole thing a wash?

It was practice I think but no real interviewing other than to ask if I had ANY experience.

A wash! I sat down, she picked up my resume, glanced at it, and said "Oh, I am only hiring experienced nurses right now." Then a moment of uncomfortable silence and she smiles at me and stands up to show me to the door!!!!

You know what though. They will be regretting their rudeness when the soon-to-be retired nurses actually retire. Then they'll be begging you to come to work for them and you can then tell them to go to "you know where.":angryfire

Yes. If the new grads don't get a chance to get experience then there will be a finite number of experiences nurses which will slowly start to reduce in numbers.
