Hi I working on getting my RN through Excelsoir and I'm almost done with my preqs. but I'm not sure what I should do next, so I wanted to get some advice from you guys:)

Okay I've already completed the following: Socialogy, Life span. developemental psy, general psy, Micro, Speech, English:yeah:

I still need to do the following: A+P, 1 more humanties class and info lit. and 7 nursing test

I havent applied yet but I plan on applying in April of this yr, just wanted to get all preqs done first.

With all this in mind, can you tell me what would you do next far as next test and when to start the nursing tests:confused:

I always value any advice I get here, you guys are great!!:specs:

Thanks in Advance,

C.

If your goal is to get all the pre reqs done, I would get the A & P over with.. Are you taking it through a community college or through Excelsior? That will be the biggie and I think you can fit the Humanities much more easier if you decide to start on your nursing exams. Also, I believe you can take one of the nursing exams prior to enrolling, so you may want to start collecting information on that.

Good luck and happy studying!

I agree with Erin. I would definitely get your A&P out of the way. Then you could start your nursing courses if you don't feel in the mood for another humanities right now. Best of luck to you!

I can help with one thing!

Set aside four and one half to five hours, sit down, and knock off Information Literacy. I did it in four and a half hours with two small breaks. It can be done. My advisor was very impressed and the best part is...It's done! It is only one credit so why kill yourself taking eight weeks? Seriously...4 & 1/2 hrs.....

Get Er Done!

BTW...I am dreading a Humanities course right now too! We are in the same boat.

Oh! On the note of Info Lit.. Take it through Penn Foster! It is significantly cheaper! There are many posts in this forum about it. I did it in about 2 hrs. I think it cost $110 compared to the $300+ Excelsior wants for it.

Do you think its possiable to have this all completed by the end of the year (december)? Can it be done?

Does EC give credit for Penn Foster classes?

Does EC give credit for Penn Foster classes?

I'm not sure about all classes, but many of us have received credit for Penn Foster's Information Literacy course. As always, I recommend seeking prior approval from an advisor.

Here is the response I received: Erin, Although Penn Foster is not a regionally accredited institution, this course is still currently acceptable for Information Literacy credit because it is approved by the American Council on Education. Good luck with the course!

That was as of 8/09. Hopefully they didn't quit accepting it!

I would take A&P next, you're going to need that in order to do well in your nursing exams. Once you get that out of the way, jump into the nursing exams and do the humanities course as you go. I think you can get all the exams done by Dec! You might have to wait a bit longer for CPNE, but if you're motivated enough you'll do great. I'm taking my 6th exam on Wed and I started in Aug so once you get going it's not bad!

Take AP next. Then do info lit through Penn Foster. After that Take Healthsafety and Transitions. Then pay your enrollement fee. Doing it this way will save you money in the end. I finished all my test in 7 months and that with 2 repeats. It definetly can be done. Congrats on staying motivated and moving along.
