    I've been study Transition to RN with Study Group 101. I've been doing the practice tests and not doing to well. Any advice on what to study and how are the tests set up, how many questions, and all mutiple questions? Just becoming very discouraged and haven't even taken the first test. Thanks

    Hi,

    Did you download the Free Content Guide from Excelsior's website? It will tell you everything you need to learn... also, the Practice Exams (purchase from Excelsior) are said to be worth every penny... I believe $75. Good luck!! I should add that even people not yet enrolled may take this exam, and access the Content Guide... and the Practice Exams may be purchased after you pay for the Transitions Exam...

    I used studygroup101, the course outline, and the practice exams. Dry, boring - history, people, organizations, etc, but I got an A.

    the study group 101 material that i got was outdated, based on older editions of the book. And I found a mistake on one of the questions that had something to do with dorothea dix. It was asking about something that she did as a result of world war II. I'm like, wait a minute, she was dead long before world war II, lol. Anyway, it made me think well what else did they have wrong? I have read on here that people found a lot of mistakes in there's as well. Also, it had on the studyguide that it was based on an older edition of the book. Would have been nice to have an updated study guide, but that wasn't too bad cause history don't change. However, mistakes in the study guide would cause me to get confused and fail. So, I decided to stick with my self made flash cards and the reading material from excelsior books. Feeling overwhelmed though, thinking of how to change study habits. any good suggestions?

    I usually read the study guide so I have an idea where i I need to focus my reading. Then I read the required text (taking notes as I go) along with charts and diaghrams etc.. I also read and re read my practice tests with rationales. This seems like a lot but I work homecare nightshift so all I have is time!

    I used SG101 for transition and got an A - I thought the study guide was superb. I searched mine and found the error in the quiz that you mentioned and sent a message to them, which is the considerate (and professional) thing to do....that way it will be correct for the next person who does it... Of course I also sent an email to Lippencott for several errors in the Taylor fundamentals text - but they didn't bother to respond and I spent way more money on that one... at least Kay always responds.
