Nursing Students Excelsior

Does anyone have any insight on if excelsior RN degree can really be obtained? Nursing schools in Texas are so competitive and the all want A students. I looked at the study guide and there is no way 100 plus questions can be pulled from that. What specific book do there test questions come from?

Yes, it can be completed, if a person works at it. Plenty of people complete the program all the time. And believe me when I tell you that they can pull way more than 100 test questions out of those content guides. Each test consists of over 100 questions and there is at least three versions of each test.

And they don't actually come from any specific book. If you could buy a book full of EC test questions people would never fail. As for studying, I've found the Saunders NCLEX Review book to be incredibly helpful.

If you're a Paramedic, LPN or RT and you can do the program, I would recommend you hurry and get as many Nursing Theory exams completed as you possibly can before July 2015 and the new "course" requirement goes into effect.

I feel if a person posts a comment like the original poster has done; EC is not for them. EC requires you to be able to look up information on your own.

Sometimes people just need a little guidance, that's all. But true, this program requires a student to be extremely self-motivated and self-sufficient!

Renee, bear in mind that it is highly possible to pull 100-ish questions from a ton of material; after all, look at the NCLEX-RN: minimum 75 questions, maximum 265 questions, and anything from nursing school is fair game.

I haven't heard of the new course requirement...I looked on EC website and couldn't find any information. Can you please explain or link? Thanks!
