Anyone know of a cheaper option for Excelsior's information literacy besides Penn Foster? Penn Foster's course is no longer being excepted. Thanks!

I am looking for the same too. Or does anybody have an idea if EC will be approving it again?

I am having the same problem. I just don't want to pay $390 for a class that everyone is saying only takes hours!!:nailbiting:

I am really kicking myself because I paid and took the course with Penn Foster and now I have to pay EC for the same class and the same thing is happening with my Microbiology class that I took with Straighterline. I thought that I was being smart and economical; but this has ended up costing me time and money.

Do they not take the Microbiology class through Straighterline or are you over the amount of credits that they allow to transfer in from ACE accredited programs. I'm just curious because I was considering taking Microbiology through Straighterline.....

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

The core courses like Micro, A&P, Human Growth & development, etc must be taken through EC or CLEP. EC will not grant credit for these classes from Straighterline. This is also posted on the Straighterline website: (emphasis added)

"Excelsior College accepts many of StraighterLine’s college-level courses for full credit.
