Excelsior now accepting financial aid for associate nursing program

  1. 0 Just found out that excelsior is now accepting financial aid for associate nursing program. You have to take courses though and not credit by exam. This just came into effect July 2013. Anyone else heard about it or have more info? I have filled out my fafsa and just have to apply and pay fee then send in my transcripts.

so it has changed? When I spoke with someone from college the other day and mentioned financial aid for program he agreed and said yes this is true. Did you use to have to be invited to the ADN pilot program?

I'm wondering can you work at your own pace still like you studying for ls3 for 2 wks then take the exam? i guess if you want you can continue to pay for the courses yourself. i've been on leave from EC for awhile and may apply for the financial aid.

EC financial aid only applies if you are taking the 8 week courses not the exams.

Bear in mind the courses will likely be more expensive than the exams because you'll pay per-credit-hour, not a flat fee. So while courses may qualify a student for financial aid, it will cost more in the long run. Just a thought.

You can only use for 8wk courses but I have heard of students using refund and do some credit by exam. You can do both or just credit by exam or just curriculum. I know of price which really isn't a huge concern bc there will be bills until the day I leave this earth and it's an advantage bc I don't have to quit my job in order to go to school.
