ENROLL BEFORE OCT 1,2012 Question

Nursing Students Excelsior

Published

I Haven't completed all my Prereqs but i wanted to "ENROLL" today. if i do, did i beat the OCT 1,2012 deadline. I'm basically trying to beat this below... 4) The School of Nursing limits the acceptance of credit from the National College Credit Recommendation Service

(National CCRS) and the American Council on Education (ACE) to 25% of the general education component

towards the nursing degree requirements. No credit from these sources will be accepted for core requirements.

A maximum of 7 credits from these sources

can apply to the Associate degrees in nursing programs and a maximum

of 15 credits can apply to the Bachelor of Science in nursing degree and the RN to Master of Science in nursing.

Acceptance of credit earned from military training, CLEP, and DANTES examinations will not be limited.

Question, I just found out about the Oct 1st deadline, I just sent my application overnight FedEx, so they should have it Monday, how long did it take for you guys to be accepted? My hope is to be accepted ASAP and Enroll right after to make the October 1st deadline, my A&P and Micro just hit the over 5 yr mark

It took about 1 week to get accepted then i just ENROLL into the program.

Thanks so much for your prompt response!!! Also did you pay the entire $895 for enrollment, or were you allowed to make a partial payment in order to enroll? If so ( if you don't mind me asking) how much did you have to pay

The enrollment fee is $1,015. I believe $895 was last year's rate. If you go to Excelsior's website, at the top, 'Apply or Enroll, then on the left, under 'Navigation', is the 'Enroll' tab, that will have the fees. Good luck!

Hi everyone. I am confused! I have a question about the Oct.1. I have several credits that will be older than 5 years by the end of this year...if I don't enroll by Oct. 1 will I have to take these classes all over again? I have spoken with Excelsior multiple times and nobody has told me this. The only thing they have told me is that after Oct.1, I will only be able to take Transitions before enrolling. Am I missing something? Thanks!

The five year limit is referring only to microbiology & anatomy/physiology. If your older credits are in say developmental psych or English it is not an issue.

JustBeachyNurse,

Thank you for responding! I was only worried about my A&P 1 class, which would have been the only class that would have expired. Anyway, I went ahead and ENROLLED today! I also bought my first CD from studyguide101 (transition) and the Saunders comprehensive book. As soon as I get the materials in the mail, I will hit the ground running! I am so nervous! Are you located in FL by chance? (I only ask due to your name ;)

Nope. Not in Florida. Actually I've never been to Florida...

Good luck in your studies.
