BSN classes

Nursing Students Excelsior

Can someone suggest BSN classes. I have to take two classes next semester and I don't want to take 2 really hard classes together

Thank you!

So like what do you need, general eds (history, psych) or nursing core classes (Teaching & Learning, Research in Nursing)?

I just started. So I have one week left of writing for professionals.

Most of the nursing core courses have heavy writing requirements. Two that I took together as 8 week courses were Professional Transitions and Teaching and Learning. Professional Transitions does require 2 papers but I really loved the course so it wasn't difficult to me. Teaching and learning doesn't have a true paper, but instead the assignments include a teaching plan (fill in a template) and a power-point presentation. Nursing Informatics is a 2 credit class and only requires one paper (I believe I took this over 8 weeks also). I didn't enjoy the material, but it wasn't really difficult.

The courses for Nursing Management, Nursing Assessment and Research were challenging with plenty of written assignments such as care plans, power-points, at least 2 papers each and some with group projects (quite challenging in an online class).

I've taken all these courses in the last year so I believe the information to be pretty up to date at this point.

Best of luck!

Thank you for all the info. I want to try and get as many classes done as soon as I can. What did you do for the general requirements?

Excelsior took tons of my previous (read 20 yr old) jr. College credits. Last year to finish off all my general eds, I took the Excelsior Ethics exam, Stats through 15 wk excelsior online course, world religions DSST exam, humanities CLEP (for 6 credits hours!). And of course the writing for the professions course you mentioned you're taking.

I finished all of the above between January and June last year, it was intense to say the least.

TiffanyRN: do you 'star' in the PowerPoint presentation or is it simply created and submitted?

The one I did was all cut, paste (some graphic images) with text. I added a VoiceOver, but I was the only one in class that did. And let me clarify, I have no skills in this area, so I created all the material, found the images, recorded the voiceovers, and my darling husband actually made it all go into PowerPoint.

That's great to know! Thanks a mil! I have NO experience in creating a PowerPoint presentation. This should be interesting......
