I guess MDs are doctors of medicine and DNPs are doctors of nursing so it'd seem somewhat appropriate although not traditional.

- Sep 24, '08 by canoeheadDO's don't specify what they are a doctor of. I guess as a patient I'd expect to be introduced specifically the first time (doctor of xxxx) and then just refer to them as Dr. Smith from then on.
