Hi! I am a new DNP student. I am an NP with an MSN. Just wondering the types of projects other DNP students have done in the past so I can get an idea

What if you were to do a project at an LTAC (Long Term Acute Care facility) and educate patients' families when patients are critical on ventilators or with terrible wounds, etc to see if it help if the patient didn't do well, in regards to allowing the patient to die with dignity or being made a DNP? So many patients are kept alive by artificial means for months just because families cannot make decisions that they never thought about before. It is a difficult area but well worthwhile when you are advocating for the patient.
This is a great suggestion. Thank you. I agree that this is an area where there is significant potential for patient advocacy and growth in the realm of palliative care.

Have to laugh - if they aren't doing well, let's make em a DNP - wouldn't that prolong their suffering - or would it kill em quicker! (I think you meant DNR.....)
