Prison Health Services, Inc...anybody work for them?

Does anybody have any feedback re this company? Do they provide extensive orientation? How is the pay and support?

Received a postcard in the mail, they're looking for LPNs...thinking I might give it a shot if the pay is high enough and the facility is safe.

Well, I do.

Alot of how you will like the situation has to do with the HCA at the facility you are at.

Mine is great. They offer meaningful monthly ceu's, a change from dumb stuff I have been subjected to.

Good benefits, above average pay.

My orientation was complete, and I was offered as many hours as necessary to be comfortable in my assignments. Also when taking on new areas, orientation is offered and ungoing.

Thanks so much! That's good to know. Correctional is something I've always been kinda curious about and seems to have such a huge need for good people, and I think as long as I felt safe I feel I'd really be making a difference.

Now, if I can just get the DNS/recruiter to answer her phone! :p

Hi I worked PHS their not bad to work for you will have enough time to train pay is fair Ok company/ Naphcare is the worst company to work for good luck :loveya: jjewels49

I worked for PHS back in 2006 (before our contract was outbid) and never had any problems with them. I would GLADLY work for them again!

OK... thanks for this post! I've been seeing PHS all over the forum, in reference to LPN's and other odd things, and couldn't figure out what the heck people were talking about!

[in my little world, the only PHS in reference to correctional nursing is the US Public Health Service.]
