Hello all,

I just received an contingent offer from state of CA prision. I was wondering how long will take them to finish this whole process ( finger printing, and background checking) ? Do they actually check your credit? I'm little nervous about it.

thanks for helping.

I can't speak specifically about California, but our backgrounds usually take about 10-14 days to complete. Once the background is done we send the prospective employee for a urine drug screen, which we can get results from within 24 hours, and a PPD if the person hasn't had one done in the past 90 days. We don't do credit checks, no idea whether California does. As bad as the economy has been around the country (and California was one of the hardest hit states), I can't imagine that carrying a lot of weight in deciding whether someone gets hired. Sometimes bad things happen to good people.

Hello Orca,

Thanks for your reply. I'm getting anxious cuz i heard state of CA they do run your credit. oh well. I will see. And you are right, bad things do happen to good people.

Good for you blue sky! I think the background check is the CII Criminal Inquiry. They are more interested in whether you have a criminal record than your credit report. Congrats and keep us posted!

Hi Bluesky,

What did you find out about the credit check? Is California still doing it? Thanks.
