Wanted to know nurses' opinions of this private provider of corrections healthcare. Are they a good employer and do they provide a safe standard of care at your place of employment? Appreciate the feedback. Thanks. Eliandrock

I worked under **** ***** at Omega.

I think a lot depends on your direct supervisor. I recently transferred from a facility with a weak health care administrator to one with an awesome administrator. The old administrator was basically a puppet of her little clique. They wanted their preferred schedule and to come in to "work" to socialize and surf the web. They would always leave sick calls for the next nurse and would be very hypercritical of what the other nurses did not get done on their shift. Heaven forbid the clique ever actually had to have any direct contact with an inmate, chart anything or work any holidays.

My new administrator is fair and does not play favorites. Also, she knows how to do my job...the old one didn't...and is able and willing to help out if needed.

The difference is amazing. I hated my job with the old group. I really like my new job.

Run in the other direction as fast as you can!!!!

I worked for CMS in NC in the late 90's. I was prn staff, but I pretty much got as many hours as I wanted. We had a great manager, no issues, and I would work for them again.

Has anyone ever worked for Charlotte County Corrections in Punta Gorda, FL as a LPN or RN? If so how do/did you like it? Thanks, J
