Does anyone have contact information for a Memorial Hospital (Colorado Springs) nurse recruiter? The husband and I are planning a move to Colorado Springs about a year from now, and I'm starting to do a little legwork to get in touch with nursing recruiters. Also, if anyone has any info about Memorial vs. Penrose, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

Hi there,

I just moved to Colo. Spgs. in April. I have applied to probably 15 RN positions at Memorial over the last 2 1/2 months. I even applied for PRN positions there just to get my foot in the door. So far I have had one telephone interview and was turned down since I have a full time position at Penrose and would not be "available" when they would need me. Other than that I received automated rejections. I have been a ICU nurse at Level 1 Trauma centers for 9 years, so I am definitely not lacking experience. If you are interested in giving Memorial a try, go to their website--memorialhealthsystem.com The recruiter phone #s and e-mail addresses are listed there under employment.

Personally I think you will be more likely to land a position with centura.org which is the Penrose system.

At the present time it is very hard to find nursing jobs in the Colorado Springs area.

Good luck to you!

Thanks for the reply! Sorry to hear it's tough out there ... have you tried anywhere outside ICU? I did hear back from a Memorial recruiter, and I'm going to be meeting with her while I'm out there on vacation in October, but I never did hear from the Penrose recruiter. I'll have to try her again as the time gets closer.

Good luck to you!! Hope you find something soon.
