Moving from Florida to Colorado and need a job
Sorry, but I have to agree with the previous reply to your question. I moved here from St. Louis last April with 8 years of ICU experience and still had a hard time finding a job. The job market in Colorado is very tight right now! Good luck to you!

RN Recruiter Info, Colorado Springs?
Hi there, I just moved to Colo. Spgs. in April. I have applied to probably 15 RN positions at Memorial over the last 2 1/2 months. I even applied for PRN positions there just to get my foot in the door. So far I have had one telephone interview and was turned down since I have a full time position at Penrose and would not be "available" when they would need me. Other than that I received automated rejections. I have been a ICU nurse at Level 1 Trauma centers for 9 years, so I am definitely not lacking experience. If you are interested in giving Memorial a try, go to their website--memorialhealthsystem.com The recruiter phone #s and e-mail addresses are listed there under employment. Personally I think you will be more likely to land a position with centura.org which is the Penrose system. At the present time it is very hard to find nursing jobs in the Colorado Springs area. Good luck to you!

leaving bedside nursing
Hi everyone, I have been an ICU nurse for 10 years and am quite tired of the stress of bedside nursing. Today I am scheduled for a telefonic screening interview for a clinical reviewer position. There will be 3 months of office training and then work from home. I am kind of nervous about the thought of working from home. Anyone have any advise/tips on what to expect? Any info is greatly appreciated!

Job Market in Colorado
Hi there, it seems like the market in Colo.SPGS. is really tight. I have been an ICU nurse in Level one Trauma Centers for 9 yrs, have applied to Memorial at least for 10 different jobs. Centura is not much better. I lucked out and got a position at Penrose. I think the Denver market is a whole lot better.

army STRAP, deployments and other Qs
Hi there, am 45, have 7 yrs ICU experience, got US citizenship 3 yrs ago, starting RN to BSN in July, seriously considering Army Reserves, would like to use STRAP and then loan repayment. I've talked to a recruiter, he said I would not get deployed while in school, the stipend is 1900.- a month for a max of 2 yrs. Will owe the Reserves 4 yrs total for that. Does not sound like a bad deal. I have started some of the paperwork but still having doubts. Guess I am just a big chicken. I have been around Army most of my life and really miss it. Any encouragement / tips / advice out there? Currently live in Missouri, the unit I would be assigned to is located in St. Peters, Mo.
