Best Hospitals to work for/Please advise

I am considering relocating to Denver, Colorado and would like some input on which hospitals are good to work for. I have my ADN and will be soon pursuing my BSN once I have found a place to relocate to. I have so far two years of nursing experience and willhave three by next year which is when I plan to relocate. I am waiting for the kids to finish school (5 and 10 years). I currently live in Illinois and hate it here because the acuity I fill is terrible for nurses. 10 to 12 patients on my night shift on a med/surg unit. I lived in Minnesota for ten years and loved it but due to some unforseen circumstances I will not be moving back there. Child magazine ranked Denver, Colorado as #1 to raise children Mpls/St. Paul was #3 and have had the pleasure of first hand experience why. So any input of the area, schools, diversity, and job market for nurses would be appreciated. My children are biracial (black and white) so diveristy is important. And they both have ADHD so the schools are very important too. These are the things that drive me to make a decision.

I do want to welcome you to Colorado and wish you the very best in your exploration and move to Denver.

I am in Colroado, on the Western Slope; I have traveled to Denver some time back to work PRN Agency Nursing. I have worked many of the facilites there. I would recommend staying away from the HCA facilites.

My favorite facilities to work at were Denver Health and The Centura Hospital at the North end of Denver called St. Anthony's (their other facility was unfriendly and rather "angr" on some units).

That would depend on you. I would have to say since I have moved around a lot as a Nurse that it would depend on you. I have had to use the same service for moving for the past ten years and they have placed me readily and with good hospitals. You need to find someone who will place you with a good hospital. They know a lot about the states in which you are interested in working in. You could also check behind them by checking the hospitals in which they want to place you with.
