Nurses' group continues union efforts at Norton Audubon Hospital

I hope those nurses continue to build on the support of their peers and the public so they can win a strong union, so that no one will have to go it alone against unscrupulous employers. Management often uses personal smears and attacks the messenger to create a hostile environment of fear and intimidation. It often has the shameful effect of discouraging whistleblowing. Many nurses just flee those kind of work environments. Nobody should be subjected to humiliation and the loss of their job for patient advocacy. That's our job! What they've accomplished took a lot of persistence and the courage to stand up, and do the right thing on behalf of their patients. Now if we could all work on making sure Congress passes the Employee Free Choice Act, to help end the union busting.
