Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

I just finished a CNA training course and will be taking the state test soon, so I'm also working on a resume. I have extensive experience and a bachelor's degree in another field. However, I have not been working for a while now, which is why I changed career goals. This new resume will be strictly for applying for CNA positions.

I'm wondering if I should include any of my previous experience on this new resume?

I had people help me, so I gotta pay it forward! Karma:redbeathe Here is a good website from my community college: http://www.cpcc.edu/career/studentsgrads/guide

You can download the Career Guide, it has a lot of help with resumes, job search, and networking. Also, after you finish a rough draft of your resume..take it to a career services counselor at your local community college. Even if you're not a student they can sometimes help edit and make suggestions to your resume (and they offer so much more!) Good luck everybody!

Hi MissMolly would you so kindly email your resume to me as well? I would greatly appreciate it! My email is [email protected]. Thank you :)

Hello, MissMolly could you also send me your resume. I have just recently started applying for CNA jobs and have not heard anything yet, so maybe I should redo my resume.

My email is [email protected]

You really want to focus on any skills or experience you have gained in class or clinicals if you don't have CNA-related experience. I just re-did my resume and completely changed it around to focus on getting a CNA position. I went to my community college to get it edited by a career counselor. I landed 2 jobs on the spot with this new resume (and of course my personality;)), so if you wanna use it and just personalize it for yourself (or just look at some of the skills I put on there) that's fine with me! Send me your email if you want to look at it :)

Can you please e-mail me a copy of you're CNA resume as well? I will be graduating May 13 and want to get an early start on updating my resume! Thanks!

Sure! Everybody else: This is the last one I'm sending out! Good luck to everyone!:redbeathe

Can you email me the resume too missmolly? I am in the same situation, work history, but none that is relevent to being a CNA.

Thank you so much!

I wrote this before I saw your latest reply ............. thanks anyway :)

Thank-you so much for the resume copy! I will definitely let you know what I think. I know that Karma is a great thing.....you will be Blessed for all the help you are giving new CNA's! Good Deeds NEVER go un-noticed!

You don't need a resume as a CNA, especially if your work experience has no relevance. I'm sure potential employers would LOVE to know you are proficient in bed making and peri care, but your CNA certification speaks for itself. You are certified to do a certain set of tasks. You don't need a resume.
