Working My Up To Becoming An RN

Hello fellow students. I just enjoy AN

its an exciting place to discuss all our

future plans as we all are so similar

but are different people. Different people

with similar interests.

I absolutely love nursing, I light up every time

I talk about A&P or get into math

figurations.

I am super at Algebra, have not yet

dont Microbiology but am so excited to

take it.

Anyway what do I do, so I got many calls

for interviews PCA's Dialysis Tech's

though I dont yet have my CNA certification.

Would I have a chance at a CNA job

if I started off in LTC working say

in dietary/serving? Also the LTC facility

I have recieved a call from for an interview

offers CNA training, but currently have

no course instructor.

I need opinions, my grades are great I am

33, 2 kids 14 and soon to be 10.

I have not worked in a long time so

I think this is why employers are not

hiring me.

Please help fellow students.

I have worked with many older coworkers who were also mothers of children and didn't get their starts in nursing until their later age. There is never a bad time for nursing as you can really start at any age. Depending on how busy you are currently i would say that CNA training would be very helpful in garnering experience for you in the field and would make it that much easier for you to gain employment at your place of choice. However it is also important to focus on your grades as well and if you already have a current job than it might also be a good idea to keep that as CNA work can get pretty stressful and tiring at times something that might be difficulty to manage when you also have children and school. Ultimately it comes down to how bad you want it for yourself and whether or not you're willing to go down a more difficult path. I've seen many mothers do it so i'm sure you are just as capable.

Thanks so much. I want this more than I have

ever imagined. I am constantly thinking

what my life would be like once I enter

CNA/nursing. I am definitely a kinesthetic

and visual learner. I absolutely loved looking

at cadavers and doing dissections in A&P.

I know that CNA is extremely demanding

as there will be good days and days I just

need to shake it all off! I know easier said than done.

I absolutely adore older people so working in LTAC

will be rewarding to me.

I have dealt with loss in so many ways and

am currently dealing with family members

that can no longer function as they did

years back. I must be prepared as working

as a cna and nurse, I will deal with the loss of patients

on a regular basis.
