Why is CNA pay so low in Florida

My name is Roy and I'm moving back to Leesburg, FL with my CNA I was wondering why the pay is so low there and it having so many nursing homes and hospitals is there places in Central Florida that pays CNA's better?

You will have to research that. The pay for CNAs vary where I'm from (Ohio), but overall it seems fairly low anyway (lowest pay I've seen is minimum wage, average I've seen is $9/hr and highest was like, $12/hr).

Pay rates in Florida tend to be lower than the national average because people will willingly accept lower wages in exchange for decent weather and the opportunity to live in a locale that is considered desirable by many.

Someone once said, "Florida is a place where you're paid with sunshine!"

it's not just CNAs. Nurses get paid less there too. I would have thought that with an ambulatory clinic and primary and specialty care outfits on nearly every corner, competition would force wages UP. However, it seems that there's always someone waiting to take that job, so....wages stay down.

I had considered (for a short while) a move to Florida, did some research on wages, and my jaw dropped. Apparently employers expect A LOT of wages offered in the form of sunshine!!
