Whats your least favorite skill?

Mine has to be occupied bed. Perineal care, mouth care, even foot care easy stuff but occupied bed was a pain! So many steps just to change the sheets, and no wrinkles? Hospital corners? I was thanking God I didnot draw it at state!

I think I hated unoccupied bed even more - and of course I got it on my test.

I didn't want to get blood pressure on my skills test, and I didn't. I have no problem with it now though.

If I had to have a skills test all over again I wouldn't want ROM. I had to do it for the test but I wouldn't remember the right order now.

In real life my least favorite "skill" is nail care. I hate clipping them. I always feel like I'm going to hurt the person's finger.

On the CNA exam I really didn't want to get TED stockings because I hadn't put them on very often and the dummy legs that we had for the exam were huge and of course the stockings themselves were very small. Luckily, I didn't have to do the TED stockings but my friend did. I didn't mind making the bed at all, actually I felt really good about that skill but because I'm a perfectionist I took a long time to do it. Outside of the exam, I would say that my least favorite skill to perform is perineal care not because I hate doing it but because patients are usually uncomfortable with having it done if they can't do it for themselves.

Right now preparing for my boards, blood pressure. I have had bad hearing since I was a kid. When I was EMT class, they basically told me I would have to get my own stethoscope. That helped my blood pressure inaccuracies significantly but I can't use my own during CNA testing. The double ones in class just don't work for me at all. :( I know this is a required skill at state and since my class is only a week long, the office is closed, and I'm testing the 8th, I don't know if the hearing impairment papers will work in time. :(

I'll say a prayer they do. But if they don't theres only a one in five chance you'll get bp. I know many people who got urine output, weight, ect.

i take my state tests next mth., and the ones i am dreading the most is the occupied bed. i just do not want to do something out of sequence & fail. i know how to do it, but missing a step in order is worrying me silly. i dread the bp as well, but i feel pretty confident about it.

I wouldn't stress the order so much, as long as you don't do what I did before I caught myself and wear gloves while handing the call signal. (praise god I caught that one) I think as long as everything gets checked off, and your gloves are removed before touching something clean you'll be okay.

With the state of KY, we know that blood pressure and handwashing is always the 2/5. :(

Yikes! In NC, you could get one of: BP, weight, Pulse, Respirations, or Urine Output. I know some states put pulse and resp in the same skill. For some reason pulse and resp were my worst in class when with most people they're usually the easiest.

In RI you get tested on five skills; the first skill is always handwashing, the second skill is a measurement (pulse, respirations, blood pressure, urine output or patient weight) and the other three skills are at random (but won't be another measurement.) I got pulse and I was pretty nervous but I was happy about it instead of having to do the blood pressure.

Bloop pressure is with respirations and pulse but I'm not worried about those. Just blood pressure.
