Since being an NA is so freaking stressful, I'm just wondering what all of you fab people do to avoid going insane?

Me its prayer, family and I'll admit, Twilight (Its my guilty pleasure)! I've met other cnas who indulge in gossip mags, lots of candy, mountain dew

food, unfortunately.

Oh good topic! This whole field is new to me, I've always worked with horses and taught for the rest of my career. So there is nothing better for me than to go ride and do something familiar, that I know I'm good at, to recharge a bit. I don't get to ride as often as I used to but it is still enough to help.

Other than that, I fall too easily into food as well :( I should get out and walk my dogs more than I do or just get outside in the daylight. Working nights is playing havoc with my whole self and my immune system is shorting out. Key word there is should though, I don't always manage to do those things.

Exersize, yoga, tai chi, meditation...balance.

Avoid slipping into food, TV, or anything else that resembles what is cleaned from the posterior of the individuals that we care for. Take your own advice, what would you tell a patient that asked the same question?

I meditate at least a half hour each day. I take long bubble baths (usually with a good book and glass of good wine). I paint, draw and read... I do yoga and QiGong, go to the park, bake/cook...

I've never heard of QiGong, Oh boy! Something else for me to look into and possibly become obsessed about.

My family will LOVE this one..

;) It's somewhat similar to Tai Chi... A sort of moving meditation/martial art...
