Should I appy at my clinical site?

I'm doing a four week cna class, and so for I am lovin it:redbeathe! I'm going into my last week of the course and I'm starting to look into some places for me to apply at. And I have to say that one of the places that I'm thinking of is the nursing home where I do my clinical at. I noticed that they seem short staffed(And I was told they usually are by one of my instructors), one reason being is when its time to feed the residents, there aren't enough cnas to feed them all or pass out trays to rooms. I overall think it would be a great place to have my first cna job, I know the place already, sum of the residents,and some of the cnas. Plus I already have a small sense of what its like to work there. And I think it might be a plus for me to tell them that I just did my clinical there and really enjoyed it. Plus I think I got the highest average in my class so far!:D It is a four star facility, so I don't really know if they would want to hire an inexperienced cna who is about to get their certification(in my state you are allowed to work up to four months without being certified). But then I think, every couple of weeks, I would be seeing my instructors come in with another group of students doing clinical and idk if that would be too weird or what:uhoh3:. But what do you guys think, should I? And has anybody got hired at the place they did their clinical at? K Thanks!!!!

I really wanted to get hired @ the place I did my clinicals. The facility is great, 5 star rating, and really its the BEST nursing home in my county. Plus it's 7 minutes away from my house! I applied but the HR department said they weren't hiring anymore :( But a year later I got hired at one of their sister facilities in another county, which is actually nicer than the place I did my clinicals lol :) I would bypass HR if I were you & see if you could talk to the DON about whether they are hiring or not. Check with the DSD (who usually interviews prospective CNAs) or the DON and see if you can get yourself hired. Good luck.

Ask your instructor if they can introduce you to the DON :)
