Red Flag? - Job Offer

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

Hiya all.

Here's the situation: I was recently hired as a CNA at an LTC facility. I figured it'd be some valuable experience before nursing school.

It is on skilled nursing unit. Pay isn't too bad. I know the building from having my clinical there.

However after being hired and taking my drug testing they have yet to call me for orientation.

It is now 4 days from being an entire month from the day I was hired without hearing from anyone.

I have tried calling and getting in touch with HR and have received nothing.

I don't do drugs so I know that wasn't the issue.

Should I be concerned? Should I run while I still have the chance? [emoji23]

I have an interview at a local hospital in a few days...

I guess I'm honestly just confused. If this is just the beginning...what will working there actually be like?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Dear lordt please ignore my typos. Lol

Is your background check ok? Do they have the right number. It is strange you haven't heard from them. Have you tried calling HR?

I have tried calling. Walking in to talk to them and they always leave me "waiting" for hours. I spent 3 hours sitting before they even told me to come back another day. My background is squeaky clean - I've never even gotten a ticket lol I don't know what's going on.

I would interview at the hospital. This LTC facility doesn't sound like a good place to work.

Move on. Any place that would treat you this poorly right out of the gate is not worth it.
