Question on injections

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

I am a RCMA and I started working in a doctor's office that I found out that I'm the only license nurse. This doctor lets all his staff do injections, when I asked he said they practice under him. Is this allowed or can I get in trouble and loose my certificate as well if something goes wrong? Please let me know what I should do,I live in Missouri.

Never claimed to be a RN

You called yourself a nurse. You are not a nurse.

You stated in your original post that, "I am the only license nurse", which sounds to us viewers that you are calling yourself a nurse. No one is trying to belittle you, believe me! People are offering you advice. You are a Medical Assistant which has different education and licensing than a registered nurse or LPN (licensed practical nurse). Unless you are a LPN or RN and have a license on the Missouri state board of nursing, you are not a nurse.

I am a nurse no matter what title I have. I have awards for being a overachiever nurse from the state of Missouri boards. I've been recognized for all the dedication and sacrifices I've made from the Board of Nurses and featured as a scholar in the American Journal of Nursing. So yes I'm very proud to call myself a nurse,if you can't support your fellow nurses no matter what title they have, than I feel sorry for your patients and for your degree. Thank you to all who answered my question without judgement,my topic is now closed.

Oh, I do support my fellow nurses. I just don't support those who insist that they are nurses when they DO NOT HAVE the educational background and have not passed the NCLEX. You are NOT a nurse. I don't care how long you have been an MA.
