Proctor's At Ocala Testing Site Can't See!!!!!

Nursing Students CNA/MA

My daughter & I both took the CNA state exam this past Wednesday in Ocala. As we expected they didn't partner us up together which is fine. The proctor's at this site are two very elderly women. I passed both written and skills cause I had easy ones. One was to ambulate someone that was sitting in a chair with a gaitbelt....when I got my test results back she had written on there that I didn't have my hand on the gaitbelt....WHICH I DID, I HELD IT IN THE BACK AS WELL AS THE PORTION THAT DANGLED!! My daughter failed....but she did everything right but the tester apparently wasn't watching very closely...the things she stated my daughter hadn't done, SHE DID DO. The girl my daughter was partnered up with did all kinds of major screw ups and passed!! She NEVER washed her hands one time, she never spoke to my daughter (indirect care), as she was changing the bed my daughter was a pt. in, she pulled the top sheet completely off her completely EXPOSING the patient!!!!! The girl I was partnered with also passed, but she was to feed me as I was the in bed patient....she never put a clothing protector on me...she didn't offer me a sip of water before I ate or as I was eating, and during all 3 skills she never gave to me or mentioned the call light!!!!

Sounds confusing, sorry to your daughter did not pass. I have never heard of anyone having such an experience. Was your instructor there during the testing?

I think your daughter should definitely challenge her test score. That is totally ridiculous imo.

texastaz......no, our instructor wasn't there, she teaches during the day. My daughter is just gonna take the skills portion of the exam again. She passed the written and it's just going to cost $57. for her to take the skills portion again. She can retest in 30 days.

Damn! A whole MONTH until she can re-test!?! People have to work, this is ridiculous! I wish someone tried to fail me un-necessarily after I payed $1,400 for my CNA course! Minus my scrubs, etc. :angryfire

Lord have mercy Serendipity.....my course was only $300.00!! Lawdy I'd have never been able to go if I had to shell out that much money!

My heart goes out for your daughter. When I tested the tester would also allow a one time mistake by the student providing that the student caught it themselves and then the student was allowed to start over. Do they allow that in your state with testing as well? - A tip that might help your daughter as well even though I think she got the shaft - when I was tested I was constantly talking explaining what I was going to do and describing it the whole time. Wish you the best.
