Oh just one of those nights.....;)

hahaha. this made me smile

I had one of those days yesterday. I couldn't believe my eyes. There was a bathroom call light on so I went into their room (a couple lives in it and he tries to help her sometimes). The door to the bathroom was shut so I knocked, opened the door, and I couldn't believe it. There was poo splats all over the floor and up the walls. I never dreamed I would see something like that. The funny thing is, neither of them (they were both in the bathroom cuz he was trying to help her) had anything on them except their shoes. It wasn't just one wall either, all four walls had splats. I didn't think it was possible. I guess anythings possible.

haha, great story. I must admit, when I started working as an aide, I was not prepared for the sheer gravity-defying abilities of poo. Somehow, it ends up in the weirdest places. Don't get me wrong, I love my work, but you have to find humor in it to keep going.

I deffinetly agree :lol2:!

haha this gave me a good laugh.... I used to have a resident that would paint.... she had a lot of trouble with her bowels and it would sit right at the edge of her rectum but then she would paint pictures on the walls and the sheets and the floors and the furniture and clean her hands off on the clean clothes in the closets and the drawers... the bad thing was when she started stuffing empty candy wrappers with it:uhoh21:

lol. I heard a story that a lady used to roll hers in balls and put them in the window to bake. She was making cookies. :lol2:

the other day we were short on cna's so i was answering lights and whhhooo hooooo i answered the light of a normally cont lady that had rip roaring diarrhea... hellooooo i cleaner her, the bed, the floor and the walls...i think it even got between my toes. ive seen poop in my nursing days but not in bulk like that.,....i was unaware the human body could hold that much substance!!!!

oh just one of those nights.....;)

i agree with the above post about finding humor in this type of thing. i know its very kindergarten of me but i think laughing about poop is fun. i have a resident that is very shy and self conscious. One day she farted in front of me and got so embarrassed. all i could do was bust out laughing. it turns out that i laughed so hard i farted. and then she started laughing at me. since then, she has been a bit more comfy around me.

Ok...... sitting here laughing, especially the cookie story, so i thought i would share mine. we had a alzheimer patient that was bad about undiapering himself, and smearing poo. Well one day we go into his room, and he is sitting in his bed with his very full diaper on his lap. He has BOTH hands full of poo. He is just shoving it in his mouth, and happily chewing away. (After the initial shock and disgust wore off) I told him not to do that, and removed the diaper. He smiled and offered me some. I asked what he was doing, he says "diggin taters". He then proceeds to tell me that he got a lil dirty working in the garden, but the taters were mighty good this year............. I had an awful time convincing him not to eat anymore "taters", and to let me help him get cleaned up.
