Hi, I just finished my Nurse Assistant course in Arizona. I did not take exam there because my mom got I'll and I had to immediately relocate to Michigan to take care of her. My question is, can I take the exam here in Michigan although I took training in Arizona? Please help! I cannot go back to AZ anytime soon...

LARA - Nurse Aide Registry

OUT-OF-STATE APPLICANTS: In accordance with federal regulations, the State of Michigan requires all CNA applicants, including applicants that are currently trained and certified as CNAs in other states, complete a Michigan approved training course as well as pass the Michigan approved tests.

I have to take the course over? Oh wow!

Specializes in CNA 8 yrs LPN 6 geri, chemical dependency.

That sucks, but what if you get certified in Arizona and TRANSFER it to MI.

The problem is I am no longer a resident of Az, and my mom is I'll this is why I came back home..

That does suck! Maybe you can take a shorter course or find a facility you wouldn't mind working in for a year or so pay for your training. I'm sorry this is happening but just imagine how well you will do the second time around. You'll have everything down pat!
