Is it difficult to find a job after cert?

Yes, its 2 hours drive from me too. I have family out there if I ever take an assignment. Are you currently in clinicals? I was told if you go above and beyond during clinicals and even introduce yourself to the DON, there's a great chance you can get hired at one of your clinical sites. Treat your clinicals like a job interview.

I got my cna cert way back in 2012, it will expire in 2015 without me working 1 minute as a CNA.

I'd say it's hard. But that's been my experience.

I think it's fairly easy to find a job as a cna in california. California is almost like Florida, which most of time have warm weather, this condition made senior/ elderly reside/ retire here. I think you'll find a lot of nursing home and alike, esp in the desert area, i.e. palm spring, inland empire. You can also get yourself certified for hha (home health aide) that way you can cast a wider net into hospice, agency, or home health provider. Also dont be too picky for your first job, apply anywhere, just to get the ball rolling :) good luck to you ;)
