I was thinking you have to be White or to a lesser extent, Black? Would you have to be in a place where there are a lot of East Asians historically, to become CNA/HHA?
Also is it hard to become CNA/HHA as a male?

I mean most clients must be White given the demographics of the US with a sizable minority of Blacks, and a little bit of Asian. I know there is the law and all that but you can't prove that they didn't hire you on the basis of your race, only guess that that might be the reason, which is I am asking.

Why do you assume that most patients ("clients") in the U.S are white? All people of all races, colors, age, etc whatever seek healthcare and require it at points in their lifetime. Where is the evidence to back up this claim?
There is discrimination everywhere but as PP's have stated, it is illegal!
Now is it possible that the East Asian l.o.l prefers an East Asian caretaker that she can relate to? Yes. But most sick people just want someone, anyone, that is qualified and compassionate, to take care of them, Period.

Wow. Choice of words, OP...your choice of words in inquiring about trends has raised a few flames...
What has been your experience to believe that you have been discriminated against? I'm curious.
I won't get into the "lesser extent" comment that has come off as questionable...I'm more curious to your follow-up rationale, or observations from that comment...
I am also wondering whether popcorn should be introduced into this conversation.

I work in a community health center. Being non-white and speaking a language in addition to English is actually helpful. Our clientele is very diverse. It makes many of them feel more comfortable that there is a rainbow of people that work there, too.
