I don't know -- but knowing Chamberlain, it might, as unlikely as writing a paper about assessments might seem! LOL

It does have a paper each week, and then a major power point "presentation" thats due the last week along with your posts and weekly paper.

Can you tell me about your econ class? I hate economics and did a very good job avoiding to take one through out my ADN. Is it doable for a person like me? And what is the course requirements?

Im in it, took two classes for far-Transitions and Assessment. Both are pretty easy, no tests, just alot of papers! I am taking sosciology, community health nursing and leadership(?) this next session. Anybody taken those? Any and all feedback is appreciated.

oh yuck, maybe i will stay away from the health assessment class. i am also interested in the economics class but have been putting that one off too. i have a history elective i can take also but i hated history in school. i guess i will pick a class and just get it done with. at lease it is only 8 weeks long.

Econ actually wasn't terrible. I managed to obtain THREE Associates degrees without ever taking Econ. Ha! :) I felt like a total idiot the first couple of weeks, until I started to understand the terminology. Our professor was great, the Econ book (electronic, no actual book) wasn't horribly dry, and I'll probably end up with an A in it when all is said and done. I just took the final exam yesterday. I had to write a total of 3 papers with something like a 200-word minimum, APA style, and each had to include a graph that illustrated our point. Weirdly enough, I think I actually enjoyed the class -- it is kind of thrilling in a geeky way when I understand the economists on CNN after taking Econ. :) There is also a weekly quiz worth 20 points, as well as a midterm and a final exam.

I took the SOCS 350 -- Diversity in the Professions class. It wasn't bad -- lots of papers. (Seems to be a theme here, ha ha. ;)) There were three smaller papers, then one larger research paper that was due at the end. For the final research paper, we had to submit our choice of topic (picking from 4) in week 2, our outline in week 3, the bibliography in week 4, a rough draft two weeks later in week 6, and the final in week 7. Week 8 was just the final exam.

I don't think that any of us are going to get away with a class that has no papers to write. I find that they are not hard to do, just takes up alot of time. For those who have taken a class that actually had a test (not a paper) to take, how was it?

Specializes in Med/ Surg and Orthopedics.

right now I am ready to get started so I can get finished. Will be taking transitions and cultural diversity for the first semester. will be taking classes with another coworker. hopefully, we can keep this thread going to keep each other posted periodically.

I'm still debating what to take and waiting to hear about some transfer credits I have asked be re-submitted for eval. I'm full-time so I plan on carrying 17 credits. I'm leaning towards Transitions, Cultural diversity, and the Algebra for the first 8 weeks. I have taken college algebra and am pushing for the credit, if I have to take it I will. I enjoy math and it wasn't difficult when I took it. If they give me credit for it I'll swap out the algebra for stats and get that out of the way. I'm not working right now so I figure better to bang it out as fast as I can. I should know more later on today or tomorrow. I'm also looking forward to getting started so I can get it done.
