Chamberlain Houston Campus

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Well I got into Chamberlain BSN program at the Houston TX campus. I start September 1, 2014. I researched the school for about 4 months before applying and found a whole lot of really good information about them. I'm really impressed with our campus and all it has to offer including clinical sites, and NCLEX scores, even though it's fairly new. I can't wait to start. I realize there aren't many Houston people on here so I just wanted to start a thread and maybe one day when someone else is researching the school they can find me and this thread and I can help them possibly. Chamberlain went from being my last choice to my top choice after everything I found out about them. And I noticed that anyone who has negative things to say about Chamberlain obviously hasn't done their homework. Can't wait to start!

Specializes in Oncology.

Just to add my 2 cents, I work at a very large, world renowned hospital in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. I am a graduate student at Chamberlain. My employer LOVES Chamberlain nurses, and we don't pay full tuition rate because we have an academic agreement with them. Chamberlain also does have Brick and Mortar locations, one of them being in Houston and the other in Pearland, both available to me for use, and I have already been approached by a representative of Duke University for the DNP program (Duke is ranked nationally by the way, AND its brick and mortar, however the program will be ONLINE with 4 immersion dates.) I'm glad I chose Chamberlain and I must say, the program is extremely rigorous and tedious. *Rant over*

I just applied to chamberlain for the january 2015 class. I have a degree from Texas state and I'm taking science classes at HCC so I'll just be taking nursing classes if accepted.

How are you liking it there? What is it like? I got denied at ut Houston for the 15 month accerlered program so it kinda sucks.

Hello everyone. I was accepted for the spring 2015 semester. Is there anyone who is currently in the program?

I just applied and have to the test but i'm hoping to get into the january 2015 class

I'm excited about this new journey. Good luck!

How long did it take you to find out you had been accepted? Do you know what your gpa and hesi score was?

Hopefully we are in the same starting class

I took my HESI on 9/22 and I was accepted on this past Friday! So it took 3 weeks. My HESI score was an 88% and my overall college gpa is 2.8 but culmulative gpa is 3.2

88% combining math and reading or the whole thing?

Math and reading. I only focused on studying those parts since that's what is used. Both parts were pretty easy. I scored a 98 on the math portion alone.

Do you know how they calculate. I took the hesi today and got.

math 88

reading 80

vocab 83

grammar 76

the sciences were yikes lol I know they don't technically count but I just thought they were crazy hard and I've taken anatomy and I am taking Chemistry now at HCC and most of the questions I had no idea.

Yes, I understand the sciences were tough. Lol I passed A&P I and II with flying colors and those questions still seemed challenging. Take your overall English score it should be listed on your results then add that to your math score and divide by 2. Then there you have your score ;-)

Yeah me too I got an A and B in anatomy 1 & 2. Are they taking your anatomys as transfer or making you take them again with them?
