    Good Morning All!

I barely come on here so with it being break I just wanted to say Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my fellow Chamberlain classmates! For those of you joining in a few weeks-welcome! It is a journey, but well worth it. There are good and bad in every school, so I won't rant and rave on here lol! I will say that it IS a journey-one that will have lots of twist and turns. I started what will be 3 January's ago-and my plan was a lot different than God's plan. But I assure you if you are able to buckle down, focus on you while receiving the support that you need-you will soar in this program! To whom much is given much is required, and their slogan as you know is that Chamberlain builds extraordinary nurses. So you will be put to the test so that they stand behind their name. However, to get this far I know you want it and you keep striving for it-you will have it! Be blessed!

    Hi Aero1,

I'm a sophomore Chamberlain student here in Atlanta, and I love it! Several of my classmates and now friends were recently attending Georgia State and left because the wait list to get into the nursing program was too long. Some said that it would take semesters to years to get into the program because it was so selective. They have also complained about the large class sizes at GA State and the inability to get help when needed. Not to say that Georgia State wouldn't be a different experience for you, but based on what I've heard from them, I'm very glad Chamberlain is already a nursing school.

Chamberlain is incredibly expensive (close to ~$90,000 without aid) but you can get your RN faster.

Go to the school and ask for a tour! It's small but very clean and has very nice facilities.

I hope you guys keep your positive energy because there will be days when all you hear is negativity and you have to ignore it. Keep your eye on the prize and be responsibile for u and u alone. Fundamentals is the foundation on which all is built so make sure u KNOW it when u conitinue into your next specialty. Good luck guys...study hard, listen actively, and always destress before tests.

Anyone that is a current or former student could you post the names and authors of the books for the Transitions in Nursing, Fundamentals, Health Assessment, Pathophysiology courses. I would to to get a head start on reviewing the information because it has been a while since I have been in school.

Their is no required book that you need for Transitions in nursing. For Fundamentals the book is Fundamentals of Nursing 8th Edition and the Author is Potter & Perry. For Health Assessment the title is Health & Physical Assessment in Nursing 2nd Edition and the authors are D'Amico & Barbarito. For Patho the title is Understanding Pathophysiology 5th Edition. The authors are Huether & McCance.

I'm confused. I'm trying to figure out the cost of this program and I can't get a straight answer. So If I'm entering my last two years of school, basically only doing the nursing portion, all of my prereqs are done; the cost will be 90,000?

ajohnson8282: Here is a link to the cost worksheet for Chamberlain College of Nursing. I hope it helps. Please call the school directly to get an estimate if you are still not clear about the cost. As a current student that is four months from graduation I will say that the program and its flexibility are worth every penny.

I have been researching information on chamberlain and I also went to the open house and fell in love. I notice that most of you say go ahead and finish your pre req courses first and then transfer in. I need advice I want to start chamberlain in the Fall I already have a previous BS degree and by the fall the only pre req I will have left to take is microbiology because I am taking a&p 2 this summer. Should I go ahead and apply to start chamberlain in the Fall and just take micro with chamberlain or take micro elsewhere in the fall and start chamberlain in the Spring? I just want to start already!!!

It will be good to get as many as prereq out of the way as possible; however, you only have that one class to take so it's not really a big deal. Therefore, if you want to go ahead and take micro with chamberlain I see no problem with it. Good Luck!
