Starting an In-Office/Dental Sedation anesthesia business - HELP appreciated

Specialties CRNA

Published

Hi all, I'm starting up my own business that focuses on sedation in dental offices and physician offices doing minor procedures. I am an independent CRNA with a number of years of experience and am thinking about moving on from my current group. I am interested in any help that can be offered as far as set up; LLC, corp type (C-Corp, S-Corp, Sole Proprieter), taxes that are involved, supplies needed, if I have to order my own drugs how to do that, where to buy equipment, what the going rate for services is, and anything else I'm sure I've missed. I am researching as best I can, but was wondering if anyone here has done something like this and would be willing to offer wisdom. I have a few offices that have expressed interest in my services, however I'm wondering how many I'll need in order for this venture to be financially worth it. Thanks to anyone willing to provide guidance.

Welcome to AN! The largest online nursing community!

I moved your thread to the CRNA forum for best response.

Sadly I don't have much to offer, but I do wish you lots of luck! Sounds like a great idea.

There is a FB forum for CRNAs that have at least two CRNAs on there that specialize working with CRNAs in setting up their own practices.

Hello, I am also interested in sedation dentistry. Would you please let me know any resources that you may have. If you have already started your practice could you share your experience please.

Thanks

I think this is a great idea. My dentist uses this service. I could hear the dentist and anesthesia provider in the next chair so I asked my hygienist about it. I'm not a fan of dental procedures so it would be well worth the extra $$ to me and I believe many others. One of friends recently told me she would rather have a baby than have procedures done at the dentist!

Best of luck !
