any philippine trained nurses here that went on to take the crna in the states. just wondering how they evaluated are credentials re: gpa and stuff. bit confuse as our grading system back home is different.

currently working in icu in the uk but planning to migrate in the us. would obviously need to work in an icu setting for a year or so for further experience and have a feel of icu over there. then finally, pursue my ultimate plan to become a crna.

any answers to my questions, suggestions, opininons or experience to share wold be greatly appreciated. everyone is welcome to share their ideas not just filipinos.

many thanks. hope ill get some replies

i know its probably too early to think about my plan of becoming a crna but at least it would give me an idea and hopefully help me achieve my plan. how much money is involved in pursuing a career in CRNA coz i gather you cant work whilst on the course which is for two years, tuition fees and other expenses

Your transcripts from your university in the Phillipines comes with a handy grade decipherer..lol. I've looked at many of these transcripts when evaluating a candidate. I think you won't have a problem on that end.

There's a credentialing service based in New York where I got my transcript evaluated.

Lots of pinoy CRNAs here.

From Ateneo back home.

My preceptor today was Filipina. I don't know her story or where she studied nursing, although her English is so good that she must have been here a long time.

the thing is, my school in the phils didnt seem to give any high grades. i only had grades of 2.75 in all my n100 to n106. my biochem is 2.o physics 2.5 algebra 1.25 . would this be acceptable enough to qualify for an interview in CRBNA school. what is gre by the way. is that something i need to do when i get to usa prior to aplying to a CRNA school. just really wanna know if i have a chance in view of my grades. coz if i dont then at least i can stop thinking about it really

Is that 2.75 based on a 4.0 scale? I know in some schools in our country 1.0 is equivalent to 4.0 here. In Ateneo we have the number grading system. If you make 97 u got 97 with highest grade 100.

What school are you from?

the lowest passing score you can get is 3.0 (75%)
